Fire Dept Training--Albero Strikes out Again

It would so simple for Albero to get his facts straight. Just to take a minute or so to talk to those involved in the activities at hand and his reporting would be much more accurate and pleasurable to read.
I am sure the accident in Hebron involving the Fire Dept. vehicle has caused a lot of people in the service to sit up and take note. An incident such as this always does. But to insinuate that the Salisbury Fire Department has been lax in their training and has only now since the accident stepped up to the plate is an absolute misdirection of information. The activity that Albero photographed this weekend was part of the Departments F.A.D.O. (Fire Apparatus Driver Operator) training. This class is done annually in order to certify and re-certify driver/operators of the departments apparatus. The class consists of many didactic hours as well as practical evolutions in which the student must demonstrate proficiency in hydraulics and mathematics required to efficiently operate the various pieces of department apparatus. Those wishing to operate department equipment must also obtain the proper class of Maryland Drivers License. Driving skills are also part of this department training and the student must also obtain a satisfactory evaluation of that skill. Those certifying for the first time have also been requited to take and successfully complete the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institutes Pumps class. This is far from new. These requirements have been in place for years within the Salisbury Fire Department.

All in all what Albero has photographed is but a very small part of the process. If nothing else, those participating in the training deserve better than this haphazard mention of the activities at hand

Albero’s reporting tends to make one believe the department is playing “Catch-up” in light of the tragic event in Hebron.

Nothing is farther from the truth.

A good reporter never lets the facts get in the way of "The Story".

You forgot to mention that if a whole bunch of people would like to watch some crazy driving, be at the Stadium around 6:00 PM Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday as all the Fire Fighters wil be in driver training classes. How convenient for you to have missed that.

Unlike you, "I" put up a Post about Ed Hastings retirement. Even thought you were there, you've said nothing about it. Joe, shame on you to leave one of your brothers out to dry. You turned to the dark side and everyone is starting to know who and what you're all about. Enjoy the Post I put up.

Crazy driving? That’s a poor very word for the exercise they will be doing. More accurate terminology would be challenging.
Again you use a disparaging term at the expense of those who put their lives on the line for the public. Those men and women deserve much better than the ungrateful diatribe you so insistently issue.

I believe the term F.A.D.O. includes driving and although anyone interested can come and watch it has never been advertised as a public event.

I did not leave Ed “out to dry”. I left before the event was over and have not had an opportunity to talk to Ed to get details and his permission to post the info.
What dark side Albero? Explain to me where I have abandoned my colleagues in the service. I constantly defend them against your misinformation.

Nice try though.

When Ed gives me permission I will make a post. Of course it will be at the risk of your boasting about doing it first.

Boast away.

BS!

If I hadn't said anything you'd never done anything about it. PERMISSION? You're kidding me, right? IF you had any respect for the man you would have posted something about it right away. Now you're forced to and you know what, GOOD! Ed deserves to be recognized after all those years and you use the excuse PERMISSION?

I also heard about all the back stabbing you did against me yesterday. Let me assure you, many didn't like it. Respect was my NOT showing up in order to be assured there were NO hard feelings anywhere in that room because after all, it was about Ed, NOT you or me.

Nevertheless, I'll look forward to your being forced to put up a post about a brother of numerous years!

You mean you need to ask perission first? Well not by God in the Bonnx we don't! We just run our mouth and to heck with a man's feelings.

And if you are going to insist on facts, then you need to quit reading Runaround Sue.

I don’t believe I even had a knife on my person yesterday. I didn’t backstab anyone. Yes I rejected your earlier post because of language.

O.K. I'll post

Only the scum of the earth would put up a post like you just did, throwing my name into it while allegedly wishing your friend a nice retirement. Thanks for being so pitiful as so many had described you to be and now you just proved it.

Yeah, you needed permission to put up a post like that. Unbelievable! That's all you've got, eh?

Or possibly your wern't invited.
Or maybe you didn't pay for the ticket to attend as I did for my spouse and me.

I guess that homemade press pass just dosen't carry the weight you think it should.

Gentlemen Gentlemen...let's please be civil, quit the kicking of sand and go to your own corners of the sandbox!!

As you know, I never attempted to go. I can assure you, I did ask, it was agreed there would be absolutely no problem in my going and I chose not to rock the boat out of respect for Ed and his Family. It turns out, I made the proper decision, isn't that right Chiefy?

Wait, didn't Joseph say he wasn't a Journalist, but was only categorized as one because of the MD Shield Law?

If so why is he using his "press pass"?

It's a shame for someone to go uninvited to a retirement for a great man such as Ed.

You don't read very well, do you? Never mind, it's not even worth it. Time to move on.

Soap, I am so glad you started this blog so that people can get the facts and not Joe's twisted view of everything. Who sent Joe the picture of Eddie's family??

Soapbox said...

I have no idea tomcat. It was a crowded room and many folks were taking photos. It was evident that certain people that evening were on a mission. No real surprise so far as I was concerned, just a confirmation of suspicions.

On a mission, are you nuts? It was a retirement party, not a top secret CIA mission! Grow up and stop all this BS! It's no wonder so many people have so much to say about Firemen! They're worse than women. Now cut this crap out and recognize they were photos at a retirement party! That certainly goes out especially to See & Gordy. Stop acting like a bunch of paranoid babies! You ewant to meet face to face and discuss this like men, you name the time and place and I promise you, I'll be there. Somehow I doubt See & Gordy are man enough to do that. They'd rather have all the drama!

Hear that noise? It's drag on my reel playing out line.

HOOKED HIM!

No solution, just like one of those Soap Opera Firemen.
