A/C Jimmy Gladwell & Family (Update for Tues 8/18

PRAYERS PLEASE!

My good friend, Assistant Chief Jim Gladwell, and his beautiful wife were on their way to Gettysburg this past week when they were involved in a horrific accident in Cambridge MD. The story is they were stopped at a red light when a vehicle struck them from behind causing them to hit the vehicle in front of them. The impact than shoved them through the intersection and beyond. It was said the driver causing the accident never touched his brakes and that he struck Jimmy at hi-way speed.

Mrs. Gladwell is currently hospitalized and is about 12 weeks pregnant with their first child. Jim suffered a back injury but I am told he was treated and released.

I ask for you prayers for Jimmy and his family. They are wonderful folks and great friends.

I will update this post as I get more info. Thank You! for your thoughts and prayers.

(Thank you Wayne Barrall for the photo)

UPDATE 1:oo pm 8/16

We just left PRMC visiting w/ Jim and his bride. She is doing better but will remain at the hospital for a few more days. The baby is O.K. Jim looks quite tired and is some discomfort w/ his back but seems to be doing well.

UPDATE 9:00 am 8/18

Mrs. Glawell has returned home. Plese check the comment section of this post for an update from Jim. His words are better than mine. Thank all of you for prayers and thoughts.

It is a shame that good ole Albero is allowing people to attack a good man when he's down. He's got posts stating Jimmy is a mole to the Grinch just because the Grinch has known Jimmy for so long. What a POS!!
Get well Rat and Momma/Baby Rat!! You have friends brother. Dont let the bastards get you down!

I would simply like to take a small amount of space to thank everyone who has sent us well-wishes and support. From the folks in the ambo from University, the Cambridge Fire Dept (especially Chief Jeff), Dorchester EMS, ALL the staff of 5 West at PRMC (what a fantastic group of professionals), the SFD vollies, the SFD career crews, the Knights of St Florian, and all our friends, immediate family and "extended fire house family." This has been the most trying time of our lives and without the support of all of you (I sincerely apologize b/c I know darn well I left someone out), I'm not sure how we wouldve made it as far as we have.

Wifey is finally home after 6 days @ PRMC and to be honest, I'm not so sure this was a good idea. She's struggling and maybe it was too early. Momma has an intestinal injury and baby has an issue possibly w/ his belly (think bladder). We will be going to Annapolis to get the lil one checked in the near future and Momma goes back to the Dr Thurs. OBGYN feels baby rat is gonna be ok too but wants him checked out up yonder.

Both of us wish to convey our sincerest gratitude for the wonderful support from all the wonderful folks out there.

Thanks isnt enough...

Mr. and Mrs Rat and Baby Rat
